Jamey Johnson, Kenny Rogers Lead Randy Travis Tribute

Country Music Hall of Fame member Randy Travis will be celebrated with an all-star tribute concert early next year when dozens of his fellow artists gather for an event titled "1 Night. 1 Place. 1 Time.: A Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis."

Set for February 8th at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, the lineup currently features Travis's fellow Hall of Famers Alabama and Kenny Rogers, along with Rodney Atkins, Chris Janson, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, Michael Ray, Ricky Skaggs, Michael W. Smith, the Randy Travis Band, Tanya Tucker and Josh Turner. Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets will be on sale to the general public Friday, December 9th at 11 a.m. CST.

A key player in country music's neo-traditionalist movement of the mid-Eighties, Randy Travis combined his deep baritone voice with pure honky-tonk tunes, scoring major hits with such now-classics as "On the Other Hand," "Diggin' Up Bones" and "Forever and Ever, Amen." The North Carolina native went on to sweep the CMA Awards in 1987, earning back-to-back Male Vocalist of the Year honors. The Top New Male Vocalist at the ACM Awards in 1986 on the strength of his critically acclaimed debut LP Storms of Life, he also earned two consecutive Top Male Vocalist trophies from that organization and has a total of six Grammys in both the country and gospel categories.

Following a massive stroke in 2013, the singer endured months of rehabilitation, making significant strides toward recovery. His brief but passionate performance of "Amazing Grace" during his Country Music Hall of Fame induction was an emotional highpoint of the ceremony. Weeks later, he delivered the memorable tagline to his Number One hit, "Forever and Ever, Amen" during a star-studded performance at the 50th CMA Awards.

A portion of the proceeds from this special concert event will go to the Randy Travis Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds for stroke research and rehabilitation.
