JAMEY JOHNSON LIVE REVIEW - The Cleveland Plain Dealer
Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Jamey Johnson light up WGAR Country Jam

The Jam has a history of presenting stars before they're stars. Rascal Flatts, Phil Vassar, the Dixie Chicks and a few others are in that category. This year's installment is Jamey Johnson. The Dixie-born Johnson looks like a Matthew Brady photo of a 25th Alabama Infantry Civil War soldier. But man, you should've seen him "In Color.'' His voice, his songs, his delivery, his stage presence, everything just screams star. It's not fair to say that his set was worth the price of admission; it IS fair to say it was worth twice that. Lyrics like "What the hell did I do last night? / That's the story of my life. / Like tryin' to remember words / To a song nobody wrote,'' which come from "That Lonesome Song,'' prove Johnson isn't a songwriter; he's a poet who writes in 4-4 time.

I am planning on running up to Ny for the two shows 10/8 & 10/9 any ideas on where to stay over night that will not cost a weeks pay?
This was my 3rd JJ concert...."My Way to You" was unbelieveable. He came out in a pair of mirrored sunglasses and a white cotton long sleeved shirt...What a hottie! Only wish he would have played all of his own songs instead of some covers. He definitely holds quite a presence on stage.
The article is great and it is great to see people discovering Jamey and his music everyday. He deserves every bit of it! He gets better everytime you see him!
My brother- who is not into country at all- heard Jamey's "That Lonesome Song" CD and was totally impressed--caught him playing live and he was hooked--said his live performance is as good as some rock stars--and he does it effortlessly!! Jamey plays, sings, writes and performs from the heart--it all is pure artistry!!
Thats the stuff! Its so exciting to hear about more people discovering Jamey's music - what a great article!
