NASHVILLE – July 28, 2009 – After years of writing songs together, longtime friends Jamey Johnson and Randy Houser join forces on the road as headliners of CMT’s eighth annual tour. CMT ON TOUR ’09: JAMEY JOHNSON AND RANDY HOUSER launches in October, and will hit 30 markets across the country.

“This tour is about 50 combined years in the making,” said Houser. “I’ve been playing on the road since I was 15 — Jamey and I both have been picking these guitars as long as we’ve been able to hold ‘em — this is a chance to show the rest of the world how far we’ve come.”

He could be basking in his songwriting accolades, but Jamey Johnson remains a restlessly creative maverick. Since the release of his critically acclaimed Mercury Records debut, That Lonesome Song, Johnson has been featured in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Los Angeles Times. 2009 is proving to be a banner year for Johnson. He garnered three Grammy nominations, his hit single, “In Color,” won Song of the Year honors at the ACM awards and That Lonesome Song went on to become Johnson’s first gold album. But Johnson shows no signs of slowing down now. He has a brand new song out entitled “My Way To You.” It is the first single from his forthcoming album, which was written by Johnson and Charlie Midnight. The song will be available August 3 as a free download at www.jameyjohnson.com. When Johnson isn’t in the studio working on the new album, he is on the road performing for sold-out crowds. “The road is where it’s at,” says Johnson. “I love it. That’s where you take country music. You don’t get the message out there by sitting at the house.”

Los Angeles Times says Universal South’s Randy Houser is adding “grit to the genre” on his exceptional debut album Anything Goes, which has positioned the Mississippi-born, soul-drenched country singer and songwriter to become one of the next big artists to emerge in the genre. Houser received a great response from both fans and radio programmers with his first single, the gripping, strikingly emotional ballad, “Anything Goes,” which catapulted into the Top 20 after an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman. His current hit single, “Boots On,” is currently No. 6 and climbing the Country radio charts, while the hilarious music video featuring a talented toddler rocking out to the song with his toy guitar has become a YouTube sensation. Both the music video and current single are available on www.randyhouser.com. As a recording artist and live performer, Houser has quickly earned a reputation for having one of the strongest voices in Nashville and is the only new male artist that has reached Top 10 since February 2008.

I've already got tickets to see Jamie in Brooklyn in October. I turned my sister onto his music (and she's not a country music fan), and she wants to go and see him too. I just love his music. Been on a real dry spell with new country artists and Jamie's saved me!!!

    Runnin' And Gunnin'

Just checking in and wanted to update you on what's been going on lately. I've been runnin' and gunnin' since we released the record in August. It's been cool cause I've gotten to meet tons of fans out on the road. In Sept I took the guys to New York City. We did the Imus in the Morning Show and then played a set with the amazing Lee Ann Womack. It was my first time in the city and I loved it. We got a car and headed down to the World Trade Center Site which was mind blowing then we headed to Little Italy for a great dinner. I couldn't get over how many people were in Times Square. Very cool.

After NY we headed to Boston to play Farm Aid. What an honor that was. I got to hang on the bus with Willie Nelson for a while after our set and I had him sign "old Maple". What an awesome day.

We are all over the map these days...I hope to see some of y'all at a show soon. Thanks for all of your great emails and all the support you've shown me.  Oh and thanks for the phone messages too, keep them coming at my number (615)823-5592.

    God Bless, JJ
