Country Artist of the DECADE in my opinion. Operative word being COUNTRY! You kick ass, Jamey! From the look, to the songs, to the voice! It has been a long time since I could listen and get the chills just hearing the voice! You are THE MAN!!! Keep 'em comin'!
HI,
I must say I admire admire Jamey Johnson. He is no overnight success!
His first album came out in 2002. I listened to WSM Spotlight on the radio
on Oct. 29th 2002. It was so remakable to hear this guy from Alabama
talk about country music and singing "Beer Song" I made a note of the
event on my Mac.
A few years ago I found his first album. I noticed his short stint with BNA
where his major song was "The Dollar". Of course label dropped him.
His latest album, he did on his own, but it was later placed with a
major label. It had the song "In Color", which is a very clever song.
Jamey likes good country music, he is somewhere between Jennings and
Jones. I went to the Haggard show @ the Ryman on September 22nd
this year. Jamey was there and sang with the Hag on the last song.
On September 24th Grand Ole Opry saluted George Jones. Jamey was
there and sang three George Jones classics that made goose bumps pop
up. At the same show both Lorrie Morgan and Tanya Tucker did songs
from their new releases.
Jamey is full of respect for real country! And so was Billy Yates the same
evening!
Thre´s NO doubt, in today´s country music, Jamey Johnson stands out
both as a song writer and country singer! Remember sometimes he´ll
even "Give It Away"...
